Today, 27 September 2016, the first Bulgarian Exchange Traded Fund was listed on BSE. Expat Bulgaria SOFIX UCIT ETF was created by the local fund manager Expat Asset Management. The ETF was admitted to trading on the Exchange Traded Products Segment of the Main Market under the symbol BGX and it will invest in companies underlying the leading SOFIX Index of BSE-Sofia as well as in deposits and government securities.
“The start of trading in the first ETF is an important milestone for the Bulgarian capital markets. We look forward to welcoming on the exchange other instruments such as structured products which will further expand our diversity”, said Vasil Golemanski, CEO of BSE during the official ceremony for the opening of the ETF’s trading.
The face value per share of the ETF is BGN 1.00. The shares are dematerialised, registered and freely transferable. Market makers will be the local investment firms BenchMark Finance, Elana Trading and First Financial Brokerage House. The maximum bid-ask quote spread is 5 per cent and the minimum quotation value is BGN 2,500.
