Börse Berlin: Figures At Mid-Year 2013

With a total turnover of 23.3 bn Euro on both market places Xontro and Equiduct in the first half of 2013, Börse Berlin recorded a 14 % decline compared to the second half 2012 (27.2 bn Euro). Trades dropped by 18 percent from 3.9 m Euro to 3.2 m Euro in the same period. 

Berlin, 4 July 2013. In broker-aided Xontro trading Börse Berlin transactions amounted to 5.7 bn Euro (7.1 bn Euro in the second half 2012). This is a decrease of 20 percent. The number of trades rose by 22 percent to 102,835 (from 84,387 in the second half of 2012). The decrease in turnover with a simultaneous increase in the number of trades in Xontro trading results form the decrease of trading in bonds and the increase in share trading.

In the first six months of 2013 Equiduct, the pan-European trading platform and Best Execution service, recorded a turnover of 17.6 bn. Euro, a decrease of 12 percent compared to the second half 2012 (20.1 bn. Euro), but an increase of 11 percent when compared with the same period in 2012. The first half of 2013 also saw the number of trades decrease by 21 percent to 3.0 m in 2013. The market place continued to deliver Best Execution, which enabled European retail investors to save €1.3 m by trading at the best price on Equiduct.
