BOX Sets Trading Volume Records In November 2007

The month of November 2007 proved to be the best month in Boston Options Exchange’s (“BOX”) history, witnessing new daily, weekly, and monthly volume records as follows:
  • Best single day in BOX history: November 8, with 1,225,186 contracts executed.
  • Best week in BOX history: November 5 through 9, with an average daily volume of 886,642 contracts executed.
  • Best month in BOX history: November, with an average daily volume of 751,127 contracts executed, which represents a 106% increase over the same period last year as well as a 28% increase on a month-to-month basis. In addition, this new record was 16% higher than the previous monthly record set last August. BOX market share in classes traded was 5.9%.
