As of July 7 Banco UBS Pactual S.A., through its brokerage firm UBS Pactual CTVM S.A., has been acting as market maker for the stocks issued by CCR Rodovias S.A. while Credit Suisse CTVM has been performing the same activity for the stocks issued by OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações S.A.
The role of these brokers is to handle bid and ask offerings and constantly help boosting liquidity and improving price formation processes for both assets, traded under the codes CCRO3 and OGXP3 respectively.
In all there are 98 assets counting on Market Maker services: 88 shares, 5 BDRs and 5 corporate bonds traded on BOVESPA Fix, the fixed income market.
BOVESPA has authorized market makers to ensure liquidity for assets and the activity was also authorized by Brazil's Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) on March 17, 2003, through CVM Instruction 384, and regulated by BOVESPA Resolution 293 dated July 22, 2003 (Equity) and Resolution 300 of July 20, 2004 (Fixed Income).
