The eighth Borsa Italiana STAR Conference starts today in London and, for the first time, is hosted by the London Stock Exchange in Paternoster Square.
On Wedensday 8, Thursday 9 and Friday 10 October, 46 companies belonging to STAR -the regulated market segment of Borsa Italiana dedicated to high standards of investment practice- present to the international financial community their first half year results.
As in the past, the Conference is organised in “one to one” meetings between the STARs’ management and investors.

STAR companies are Italian listed small and medium caps that meet global investor standards in terms of transparency, liquidity and governance.
The average free-float for STAR companies is 40%.
Today there are 79 sector leaders within the STAR segment –which was born in 2001- exemplifying the variety and competitiveness of the Italian economy.
The aggregated figures of first half 2008 show that STAR companies recorded an average growth in revenues equal to 15%, while it was equal to 17% in whole 2007 and 22% in 2006. EBITDA, in the first half 2008, is equal to 23% and was 24% in whole 2007 and 24% in 2006.
The STAR segment market capitalisation is around 20 billion euro and the average daily turnover of the segment is 51 million euro.
