Boerse Stuttgart: Bondm Subscriptions Close Early For Air Berlin Bond - Strong Demand Among Investors For The New Corporate Bond From Air Berlin

Date 03/11/2010

Owing to the high demand for the recent bond issue from Air Berlin, the entire subscription volume, which had been increased to EUR 200 million, was reached just a few hours after the start of the subscription period. From today, private investors were also able to subscribe to the newly issued bond from airline company Air Berlin PLC, by trading directly in Boerse Stuttgart’s Bondm segment for SMEs. Sabine Traub, Head of Bond Trading at Boerse Stuttgart, commented: “The subscription for the Air Berlin bond – the seventh bond in the Bondm segment – was extremely successful. The entire subscription volume was placed on the market within a few hours. The high demand shows that many private investors are targeting their investment into corporate bonds.”

Following the early closure of subscriptions and pro-rata allotment at 16.00 hours (CET) on 2 November, investors will be able to start trading the bond in Boerse Stuttgart’s SME segment Bondm from 10 November. With a total issue volume of EUR 200 million, a coupon of 8.5 percent and maturing in 2015, Air Berlin’s corporate bond is the Bondm segment’s second highest profile bond in terms of volume. All SME bonds listed in Bondm have a nominal value of EUR 1,000.
