BNP Paribas Asset Management Strengthens ETF And Index Solutions Team In Europe

Date 17/05/2018

BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPP AM’) announces the appointment of two new additions to its Exchange Traded Funds (‘ETF’) and Index Solutions team, Maude Rivierre Bianchi and Chiara Solazzo, as well as the recent addition of two junior colleagues, Victor Volard and Nitharshini Thevathas.

Maude Rivierre Bianchi joined on 23 April as a Product Specialist.  She is based in Paris and reports to Bertrand Alfandari, Head of ETF Development.  Chiara Solazzo joined on 2 May as a member of the ETF and Index Solutions sales team in Milan and reports to Sabrina Principi, Head of ETF Sales for Italy and Spain.

Last year, Victor Volard joined the sales team covering French clients, and Nitharshini Thevathas joined the product development team.

These appointments are in line with the strategic growth plan announced in 2016 by Isabelle Bourcier, BNPP AM’s Head of Quantitative & Index Management.  BNPP AM aims to double its assets under management in ETFs and index solutions, supported by significantly strengthening its sales and product development teams.

Isabelle Bourcier, Head of Quantitative & Index Management at BNP Paribas Asset Management, comments:

“The new organisational structure that BNP Paribas Asset Management has established is already showing results, and since I joined in mid-2016, we have accelerated our recruitment programme to reinforce our team responsible for the development of ETF and index solutions.

“After two years of intensive fund-raising, in 2016 and 2017, assets under management in our index business had grown to EUR 19.5 billion at the end of December 2017[1], and our positioning in Europe continues to progress.  We intend to pursue this expansion with further recruitments before the end of this year.”

BNP Paribas Asset Management’s ETF and Index Solutions team currently numbers 28, including 10 managers and 18 business developers covering French- and German-speaking countries, as well as Italy[2]
