BME Completes Its Consultancy Work For The Peruvian Public Debt Market - It Follows The Electronic Platform Created By BME For The Algerian Public Debt Market

Date 11/05/2015

BME Innova, the innovation subsidiary of BME, has conducted a consultancy project on the needs and solutions required by Peru’s securities market operation systems, in the area of IT infrastructure.

The project was commissioned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru (MEF) and was aimed at assessing the current state of the infrastructure supporting the country’s Public Debt securities market operation system and identifying regulatory and technological improvements, based on international models, standards, procedures and best practices.

BME has presented the conclusions of this work during a seminar organised by the MEF with the attendance of the participants involved in this process in that country, specifically, the Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores (SMV), Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros and AFP (Administradores de Fondos de Pensiones) (SBS), the stock exchange of Lima (BVL), the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP) and the Sistema de Liquidación de Valores, (CAVALI).

The project relies on the support and funding of the SECO (Swiss Economic Cooperation Agency) and in its development Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI) has collaborated with BME Innova.

The work follows that recently conducted by BME for the Algerian Ministry of Finance under the Financial Market Reform through the implementation of an electronic platform interconnecting the participants of the Public Debt market, also carried out with the collaboration of AFI. The implementation of this platform has facilitated the complete automation of all procedures, providing efficiency and safety and new functionalities to the market.
