The Board of Directors of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) has agreed to put an extraordinary dividend before its shareholders in general meeting on 30 April for approval. The proposed dividend of €47.5 million, equivalent to a gross dividend of €0.569 per share, will be charged against voluntary reserves and will be paid on 21 May, 2008.
Meanwhile the Board of Directors will propose the distribution of a final ordinary dividend against 2007 earnings of €84.9 million, equivalent to a gross dividend of €1.01647 per share, payable on 7 May 2008.
The final dividend comes on top of the €79.9 million interim dividend paid out against 2007 earnings in May and puts the company’s dividend payout at 82%, one of the highest in the sector worldwide.
BME generated net profit of €201.13 million in 2007, up 54.1% on the €130.53 million posted in 2006.
