BM&FBOVESPA received the Lord Mayor of the City of London Nicholas Anstee for a lunch at its headquarters on October 19. BM&FBOVESPA CEO Edemir Pinto, received this delegation from the City, made up of executives and multidisciplinary professionals.
“It is with great satisfaction that I receive this delegation from the City, during a growth and expansion period for the Brazilian Exchange and for Brazil that I consider to be unique,” said Edemir Pinto. The BM&FBOVESPA CEO also called for alignment with the London regulator in order to help widen the Brazilian Exchange’s scope of activities in Europe.
Nicholas Anstee arrived in Brazil on October 18, following visits to Mexico and Colombia. The City is located in London’s heart and has its own Mayor, chosen annually and whose official residence is Mansion House, in front of the Bank of England.
The purpose of the Mayor’s visit to Latin America was to seek new business opportunities and partnerships. As well as meeting representatives of BM&FBOVESPA, Mayor Anstee met with representatives of São Paulo industrial association Fiesp, the CVM Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil and the BNDES Brazilian Development Bank.
While at the Exchange, the Mayor’s delegation was given a rundown of its main market segments and of its strategy to transform Brazil into one of the world’s most important investment and business hubs, in association with Brain – Brazil Investments and Business.
