Beiersdorf AG Replaces Biffa Plc In The S&P European Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus, S&P Euro and S&P United Kingdom indices, effective after the close of trading on Thursday 03 April 2008:

  • Beiersdorf AG (Germany, SEDOL: 5107401, GICS: Consumer Staples, GICS Code: 30302010) will replace Biffa Plc (United Kingdom, SEDOL: B129PL7, GICS: Industrials, GICS Code: 20201050) in the S&P Europe 350 index and will be added to the S&P Euro Plus and S&P Euro indices, following the acquisition of Biffa Plc by WasteAcquisitionco Limited. The last day of dealings in Biffa Plc’s shares is expected to be 03 April 2008 and the transaction remains subject to a Court hearing scheduled for 02 April 2008.

    Beiersdorf AG develops, manufactures and markets personal care, disposable medical and adhesive products. The number of shares outstanding will be 252,000,000 and the Investable Weight Factor will be 0.3955. The company will be added to the S&P Europe 350 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Personal Products sub-industry.
