The U.S. blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.83% in AUGUST, closing at 13322.13. Stock market indexes in Europe and Asia fell, while globally indexes were up in AUGUST, according to preliminary monthly figures from global index providers, Dow Jones Indexes and STOXX Ltd.

- Globally, the Dow Jones Telecommunications sector index posted the biggest gain, climbing 2.37% in the Dow Jones Sector Titans Indexes. The Dow Jones Automobiles & Parts sector index posted the biggest loss, dropping 5.81%.
