Association Of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) Officially Adopts China’s ISIN Codes

According to the resolution of the Association of National Numbering Agencies’ 2006 annual meeting, China Finance Standardization Technical Committee Securities Sub-Committee (CFSTCSSC), upon its recent entry into the ANNA as the Chinese representative, will be in charge of allocating the International Securities Identification Numbers (ISIN) within the Chinese territory.

With two years of efforts and the unreserved assistance of all stock/futures exchanges, China Securities Depository and Clearing Corp., China Government Securities Depository Trust & Clearing Co and other related bodies, the CFSTCSSC has set up the national application and distribution mechanism for ISIN Codes and completed related compilation and data matching.

The ANNA decided to install on Oct. 12 in its official system the ISIN Codes compiled by the CFSTCSSC and launched them into formal use worldwide. The original ISIN Codes allocated to the Chinese market by Germany’s WM would be put out of use.
