The Estonian AS Hansapank with its seat in Tallinn started operations on the WSE on 18 March 2008. The institution will trade in all securities on its own account and on clients’ account.
AS Hansapank was established in 1991. It has been listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 1995. AS Hansapank is a member of OMX Tallinn and OMX Vilnius.
Hansapank has been a WSE IPO Partner since February 2007 under the programme aimed at attracting foreign companies to the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
AS Hansapank is a member of the Swedish banking group Swedbank Group and one of the largest financial institutions in the Baltic States. Swedbank Group operates in the home markets of Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as Russia, Denmark, Finland, China, Norway, Japan, Luxembourg, Spain, and the USA. Hansapank offers clients a wide range of financial services in all banking segments, including retail and corporate banking, insurance, leasing, and investments. AS Hansapank operates a brokerage business on its own account and on clients’ account.
The WSE now has 19 Remote Exchange Members from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Slovakia, and Estonia.
Remote membership gives foreign brokers direct access to the WSE system without presence in Poland or the service of local intermediaries.
