Alpha Tau Medical Ltd., an Israel-based oncology company listed on Nasdaq, today announced its dual listing on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), following TASE's approval of the listing of the Company's shares under the ticker symbol "DRTS." The Company currently has a market capitalization of approximately NIS 3.6 billion.
Alpha Tau Medical is a Jerusalem-based oncology company founded in 2015 that develops the Alpha DaRT® technology for the treatment of solid tumors. The technology is based on the localized insertion of alpha radiation-emitting sources directly into tumors, with the aim of destroying cancer cells while minimizing exposure to healthy surrounding tissue.
The Company views itself as an Israeli and Jerusalem-rooted company, with deep ties to Israel and a strong commitment to its local presence. Alongside its international operations, the Company continues to operate from Jerusalem, employ personnel in Israel, and maintain extensive community engagement activities.
Uzi Sofer, Founder, CEO and Chairman of Alpha Tau, said:
"Following Alpha Tau's significant achievements in recent years, I am proud to say that we are coming home. For us, the listing on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange is much more than a capital markets transaction. Alpha Tau was born out of Israeli science, grew in Jerusalem, and continues to develop from here an Israeli technology designed to help cancer patients around the world. We are a company with deep roots in Israel and a genuine commitment to our employees, our community, and our country. It is important for us to continue creating opportunities here, contributing to the international community, and providing treatment to cancer patients worldwide regardless of religion, race, or gender. In recent years, we have seen growing interest from Israeli investors in the Company's progress and the potential of our technology. At the same time, we have received numerous requests from the local market to enable trading of our shares in Israel, in shekels, and during local trading hours. We therefore wanted to provide the Israeli public and investors with the opportunity to participate more closely in Alpha Tau's journey, not only through Nasdaq but also through Israel's stock exchange. In my view, this is a natural step that connects Israeli innovation, the Israeli capital market, and our commitment to continue growing, hiring, and building in Israel. We are proud and delighted to become part of Israel's thriving capital markets ecosystem."
Ittai Ben-Zeev, Chief Executive Officer of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, said: "We welcome Alpha Tau to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange through a dual listing. A dual listing creates meaningful value for both the company and its shareholders by expanding the investor base, improving accessibility to the stock in local currency and during local trading hours, and strengthening the company's exposure to the Israeli capital market. For Israeli companies traded abroad, connecting to the local exchange provides the benefits of a home market, deeper familiarity among local investors with the company's business, and the opportunity to be included in Israel's leading market indices, advantages that are not available to the same extent through U.S.-only trading. We view this move as another demonstration of the relevance and importance of the Israeli capital market for Israeli growth and technology companies, and we expect to see additional companies pursue dual listings in the future. Such developments contribute to strengthening Israel's economy, deepening the local capital market, and broadening access to quality investment opportunities for the Israeli investing public."
