Acquisition Of RAS SpA By Allianz AG And Share Increase For LogicaCMG In The S&P European Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus, S&P Euro, S&P United Kingdom and S&P Global 100 indices, effective after the close of trading on Thursday 12 October 2006:
  • Saipem (Italy, SEDOL: 4768768, GICS: Energy, GICS Code: 10101020) will replace RAS SpA (Italy, SEDOL: 4718246, GICS: Financials, GICS Code: 40301030) in the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus and S&P Euro indices. RAS SpA is being deleted from the index following its acquisition by fellow index constituent Allianz AG.

    Saipem provides engineering, procurement, project management and construction services for the oil & gas industry. The number of shares outstanding will be 441,242,426 and the Investable Weight Factor will be 0.57. The company will be added to the S&P Europe 350 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Oil & Gas Equipment & Services sub industry.

  • Allianz AG (Germany, SEDOL: 5231485, GICS: Financials, GICS Code: 40301030), a constituent of the S&P Europe 350, S&P Euro Plus, S&P Euro and S&P Global 100 indices, shares will increase to 431,152,986 following the issue of new shares to RAS SpA ordinary and savings shareholders. The Investable Weight Factor will be unchanged at 1.
  • LogicaCMG (United Kingdom, SEDOL: 0522708, GICS: Information Technology, GICS Code: 45102010), a constituent of the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom indices, shares will increase to 1,547,439,250 following the acquisition of non-constituent WM-Data AB. The Investable Weight Factor will be unchanged at 1.
