Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Participate In GITEX - 2015

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange unveiled an integrated package that contains the latest innovative solutions, platforms and smart services applications for the business community during its participation in the Thirty Fifth Edition of Gitex 2015 which is being held under the slogan “The Internet Future of Everything” at Dubai World Trade Center as part of Abu Dhabi E-government Pavilion in the period from 18th to 22nd of October. A special platform has been designed for the participation in this year’s edition of Gitex. A large number of governmental bodies and private sector companies operating in the technology field are taking part in this event.

Abu Dhabi E-government’s pavilion includes governmental bodies and institutions operating under the supervision of Abu Dhabi Government. These bodies and institutions offer a unique digital experience for Gitex’s visitors through which light is shed on the latest applications and innovative software offers since the UAE’s slogan for this year is “The Year of Innovation”. The goal is to make life in the Emirate more suitable and safe, and to provide a proper business environment for both locals and residents alike.

Commenting on Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s participation in this year’s edition of Gitex, His Excellency Rashid Al Baloushi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, said that this participation comes as a result of Abu Dhabi Emirate’s keenness to provide the best electronic services and smart applications that are capable of achieving a quantum leap with respect to the services offered by governmental institutions and bodies.

He also added that, through its different departments, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange was able to achieve a quantum leap with respect to the development of the competitive services’ standards and excellence on the strategic projects level through launching a series of smart technological services that contribute to the provision of innovative and facilitated services to the investors and partners. The aim of all this effort is to enable these institutions to keep up with the directions of the UAE’s leadership with respect to the transformation into a smart government.

Al Baloushi explained that the purpose behind participating in Gitex is to ensure that the best success factors are provided through introducing the different categories of society and dealers to the latest technological applications, new services and smart initiatives of Abu Dhabi Exchange which were designed to provide investors with an easier method to stay in touch with their own activity in the Exchange and to try to attract more people who are interested in staying updated on whatever is introduced in the field of modern technology. Also, such effort aims to reinforce the concept of smart services which is based on the concept of direct interaction between the receiver and the information source. Moreover, it seeks to enable Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange to stay updated on whatever technological innovations or modern applications that are being introduced to the market that are capable of development the systems that the Exchange uses and the services it offers.

Al Baloushi added that Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange strives toward transforming the majority of its current services into smart ones as part of its continuous quest to achieve excellence and support Abu Dhabi Government Vision 2030 in the technical and technological fields and in accordance with its goals.

During today’s event, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange presented Sahmi Service which is an interactive touchscreen display that comes as part of an initiative that is unique in the region. This step represents a phenomenal development in the way financial markets’ services are provided to investors.

The interactive touchscreen display is similar to the website in terms of its content and design. However, the display is more interactive and relies on a straightforward and exciting approach that delivers a new and unique experience for the investors registered at the Exchange and those who wish to register to obtain an Investor Number.

Sahmi Service that Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has launched can be easily used by the visitors and investors registered at the Exchange. It also offers an array of electronic services that include the issuance of a new investor number, modification of existing investors’ details, obtaining financial reports and investment statements in a printed form including the investor’s portfolio and balance, the investors’ account statement, as well as the availability of the investor’s trading report and the provision of the electronic payment services for all the services offered by the Exchange.

Furthermore, His Excellency talked about the launching of the interactive touchscreen display “Sahmi” as part of a unique initiative in the region which represents a substantial development in how financial markets provide services to investors. He also focused on the features of the new service and its availability on a 24/7 basis year round. Additionally, he expressed his happiness for the Exchange’s success in issuing a new investor number in just 60 seconds after the transaction is initiated using the ID card. This helps save the time required to fill in the personal details by directly extracting them from the Emirates ID card to the investor. Moreover, this service allows the investor to stay updated on the Exchange’s activity through the prices electronic bar. The interactive display further shows information about the Exchange and prices in addition to introductory presentations and educational materials that address the Exchange’s services.

His Excellency Rashid Al Baloushi also launched the beta version of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s official website www.adx.ae in its new design today in the presence of the members of the website’s technical team. The new website offers an array of technical services and information to the investors and the Exchange’s strategic partners alike. In addition to that, it highlights the main features of the institutional identity of the Exchange as well as describing its strategic goals. In this regard, Al Baloushi said in a press release today: “The launch of the website’s beta version comes as an attempt to keep up with the information revolution that is happening now globally as well as using its applications in all fields of life. This shall reinforce the Exchange’s status as one of the pioneers of integrated electronic society for local and international investors.”

The new website has been equipped with the latest interactive technical features in the field of digital publishing for the purpose of facilitating the visitors’ access to investment information, news and media materials that are related to the disclosure of the different companies that are published on its pages.

Al Baloushi emphasized the importance of the website for the Exchange since it will serve as a main resource for the business community with respect to information and services. He also said that the technical and technological developments that the world witnesses today mean we have to keep up with the change. It is also very important to adopt the best services so as to enhance our performance and serve as the real representative of the private sector as well as be its main destination in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The beta version of this website includes a special window for suppliers through the electronic procurement service through which they can enter their details and information, in addition to obtaining information regarding the Exchange’s tenders and auctions.

During the event, a number of specific services and smartphone applications have been reviewed. These services and applications were launched earlier by the Exchange as part of the Gitex 2015’s events in a new edition that was updated just days before the opening of the Exhibition. The new edition included rich information that the user can benefit from. It is worth mentioning that the over 10,000 users have been registered in this service so far.

A number of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s officials will be present during Gitex’s days to deliver the needed clarification and explanation regarding the Exchange’s smart services and platforms to the dealers. They will also answer general questions and inquiries raised by Gitex’s visitors through the dedicated workshops that will be organized during the event. This participation helps reinforce Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s smart services.
