Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX ) Celebrates The Emirati Women's Day - Rashid Al Baloushi: Female Employees Make Up Around 44% Of The Total Number Of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s Employees

His Excellency Rashid Al Baloushi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, said that the number of female employees currently working at the Exchange has reached to 51 employees, 49 of whom are nationals who make up around 44% of the total number of the Exchange’s employees which is 113 employees. He also pointed out that there are 8 local female employees who are currently occupying high positions within the Exchange, which is equal to the number of male employees.

During the event that Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange organized in celebration of the Emirati Women’s Day, Al Baloushi stated that the 100% equality that has been achieved with respect to the number of male and female employees occupying high positions within the Exchange signifies the important role that women play in the comprehensive development process that our country is witnessing these days. This fact is also in line with the directions of our country’s leadership which stresses the importance of supporting and encouraging women to contribute alongside men to the efforts being exerted to serve this country.

The participants in the event expressed their loyalty and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates’ leadership represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed AL Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as Their Highnesses members of the Supreme Council rulers of the UAE and the Emirati people, and hoped that this country would continue to prosper and develop in all fields of life.

Moreover, the participants also expressed their appreciation and pride in the pioneering role that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood “Mother of the Emirates”, is playing with respect to implementing the Emirati woman empowerment policy and her keenness to reinforce women’s status as part of the overall advancement that the UAE is going through. They also emphasized the Her Highness’s idea to select the word “Innovation” as the slogan for the Emirati Women’s Day for this year reflects her deep conviction that the Emirati woman is the symbol of creativity, excellence, responsibility and citizenship. On his part, Al Baloushi emphasized that the substantial support that Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak provides helps reinforce women’s participation in the overall development process in the UAE, and enabled them to occupy the highest positions in several ministries and public and private institutions which ultimately helped the country achieve substantial equality between men and women, not only on the local level, but on the regional one as well.

He also said that based on its strong belief in the role of women, the Exchange’s Board of Directors is keen on providing all necessary support and encouragement to its female employees in order to enhance their participation in the development process that the Exchange has been going through since its establishment.
