464 Billion EURO In Turnover On The German Stock Exchanges In November - Xetra® Record In Neuer Markt Stocks/ Record Turnover On Xetra®

Turnover in equities, fixed-income securities and warrants on the German stock exchanges in November was 18.6 percent higher than the volume posted in the same month of last year. The total turnover statistics for all German stock exchanges in November show that a volume of 464 billion EUROs was traded, 310 billion EURO in equities and warrants, and 154 billion EURO in fixed-income securities. The order-book statistics, which are based on single counting of all transactions in the order book of Xetra® and in broker-supported trading on the floor, shows equities turnover of 92 billion EURO for all German stock exchanges in November. Of this total, volume of 80 billion EURO was traded in German equities, with 61 billion EURO, or about 76 percent, traded through Xetra. Trading on the floor of FWB, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, accounted for another 14 billion EURO, or about 18 percent. The Xetra share of the DAX blue-chip turnover was at 84 percent. A new record was set in trading on this system. On 19 November, a volume of 1.47 billion EURO was traded on Xetra in one stock, more than had ever been traded in the shares of any one company. The old record was about 1.45 billion EURO (DaimlerChrysler on March 19). In the MDAX segment, Xetra further expanded its market share. In November about 40 percent of the turnover in MDAX stocks in Germany was traded through Xetra. Xetra gained ground substantially in the Neuer Markt: In November, Xetra accounted for a 33 percent share of the turnover in the NEMAX-50, setting a new record on a monthly basis (compared with about 30 percent in October). On a daily basis, the Xetra system achieved peaks of 38 percent. The order-book statistics show that Mannesmann was the most active DAX stock in November, with volume of about 18 billion EURO traded. Philipp Holzmann was the leading MDAX stock, with 485 million EURO in shares traded, and EM.TV was the top Neuer Markt stock, at 802 million EURO. In the SMAX (small-cap quality segment), RSE Grundbesitz-Beteiligungs AG ranked first with a volume of 31 million EURO traded in its shares.
