Herbie Skeete, Managing Director, Mondo Visione and Co-founder of the Index said:

"Myth and legend has it that Michael Bloomberg when asked what the difference between Reuters and Bloomberg was, said 'Mr Reuter is dead, I am still alive'. There are many assets in the Refinitiv cupboard and if the London Stock Exchange Group's CEO David Schwimmer can restore the buccaneering, can-do spirit of innovation to the company formerly known as Reuters, he will certainly give Bloomberg a run for his money, even if Baron Paul Julius Freiherr von Reuter is, alas, no longer with us. The LSEG's Refinitiv acquisition, is but the latest indicator of the direction of travel with exchange groups morphing from utility-like trading centres to being hubs of financial data and technology. Deutsche Boerse's recent acquisition of Axioma and Nasdaq's acquisition of Quandl at the end of last year and now the LSEG's acquisition of Refinitiv indicate that a strategic repositioning of exchange groups is now well underway."
