WSE Introduces More Futures, Including Contracts On WSE Shares

• On 23 January 2012, two more futures will be introduced to trading: contracts on shares of the Warsaw Stock Exchange and on shares of PBG SA.

According to the standard specification of the instrument, contracts which will be introduced to trading expire on three dates, which are as follows for the first series:

Contracts on WSE shares:
• series FGPWH12, expiry date 16 March 2012
• series FGPWM12, expiry date 15 June 2012
• series FGPWU12, expiry date 21 September 2012

Contracts on PBG shares:
• series FPBGH12, expiry date 16 March 2012
• series FPBGM12, expiry date 15 June 2012
• series FPBGU12, expiry date 21 September 2012

The number of shares per contract is 100 for both instruments.

Single stock futures are currently one of the most dynamically growing WSE markets. In 2011, the total volume of trading in single stock futures was over 737 thousand contracts and grew by 96% year on year. The product offering is being expanded to address growing interest of investors. Following the introduction of the new contracts, there will be 20 single stock futures traded on the exchange (17 contracts on shares participating in the WIG20 index and 3 contracts on shares participating in the mWIG40 index).

Subsequent futures to be introduced will be on shares of companies selected by investors as the most attractive. The Exchange has published a questionnaire with a list of 8 single stock futures which may potentially become traded on the Exchange in the nearest future.
