World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and International Diamond Manufacturers Association (IDMA) Presidents’ Meeting convenes in İstanbul Shangri-La Hotel on June 16-18. The meeting will bring together 28 presidents from 20 countries, who will determine the rules of the world’s diamond markets. The meeting aims to bring together local and international bosses of the diamond sector and the leading companies of the jewelry sector.
World Federation of Diamond Bourses Presidents’ Meeting will be held at Shangri-La Hotel in Beşiktaş, İstanbul on June 16-18, hosted by Borsa İstanbul. İstanbul will be hosting the leading bourses, companies, jewelry manufacturers and sector representatives for three days.
All diamond bourses of the world are members of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), which regulates the sector. Presidents’ meeting is held annually by WFDB, and this year, it convenes 28 bourse presidents from 20 countries. The meeting will determine the diamond trade rules for 2013, and is aimed at calling together those who have a say in the sector, allowing them to share their experience, and thereby contributing to the development of the Turkish gems and jewelry sector.
The meeting will draw attention to the importance of the diamond trade, including 19 sub-sectors, in reaching Turkey’s 2023 target of USD 500 billion worth of exports. The meeting is aimed at strengthening the cooperation and trade opportunities for the jewelry sector representatives and global diamond traders.
Included in the event’s main targets is to promote the Turkish jewelry sector in the international diamond markets, and to attract global diamond traders to Turkey.
