Women In ETFs Bell Ringing At SIX Swiss Exchange - As Part Of The International Women's Day, Women In ETFs Rang The Bell At The Swiss Stock Exchange.

Date 10/03/2017

On 8 March 2017, SIX Swiss Exchange acted as a host for the third bell ringing of Women in ETFs. The event was part of a global bell ringing in celebration of International Women's Day. Over 40 stock exchanges around the world joined the UN Global Compact, Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative, UN Women, the International Finance Corporation, World Federation of Exchanges, and Women in ETFs in raising awareness about the importance of gender equality to both business and sustainable development. SIX Swiss Exchange is proud to have been hosting this event for the third time in sequence.

The event focused on gender diversity and how to displace gender stereotypes. Prof. Dr. Gudrun Sander, director at University of St. Gallen (HSG), outlined in her presentation that diversity is a leadership task and requires stretching norms. Prof. Dr. Sander showed that each individual has stereotype images in its mind and needs to challenge these daily taking into consideration the context and personal background in order to play the game for gender diversity - but better - when necessary. Close to 50 participants attended the Women in ETFs bell ringing in Zurich.

Women in ETFs was founded in January 2014. Today, the organization is visible in 5 continents across 11 countries and counts already close to 2'500 members globally (incl. 15% men). Its objective is to build a global network of women in the ETF industry with the goal to further the careers of women today by leveraging their collective skills and ambitions.
