Women in ETFs, the first women’s group for the ETF industry, announced the appointment of the organization’s Board of Directors and leadership team.
Founded in January 2014, Women in ETFs brings together women in the ETF industry in the United States, Canada and Europe to:
- Connect: create opportunities for professional advancement by expanding connections among women in the ETF industry.
- Support: offer guidance for the current and next generation of women in ETFs.
- Inspire: provide forums for education and idea sharing across the industry and beyond.
Sue Thompson, Head of BlackRock’s Asset Manager and RIA Channels commented: “Since January, Women in ETFs has held a series of successful educational and professional development events, including a webinar regarding the History and Ecosystem of the ETF Industry, and a launch event for the regional chapters Boston. Interest from women in the industry has been very strong in taking leadership roles in the national organization and to establish regional chapters in Boston, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington DC, Toronto, London and Frankfurt.”
Joanne Hill, ProShares Head of Institutional Investment Strategy commented: “The ETF industry is growing, but it has a lot of moving parts and layers. Our goal is to make sure women in the ETF industry maximize their opportunities to learn and grow with the help of their peers. Through the rest of the year, Women in ETFs will focus on expanding membership and holding inaugural events in the regional chapters in cities across North America and Europe.
Our next event will take place in Chicago on September 17th in conjunction with the Morningstar ETF conference and the New York chapter is planning to hold a launch event in October.”
