Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Will Remain Closed For September 12, 2001

The Board of Governors of Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) met this morning and has announced that its market will remain closed for the trading day of September 12, 2001. This is in recognition of the tragic events that took place in the US yesterday.

Officials of the Exchange have been in contact with other exchanges and financial institutions, in addition to Canadian regulatory authorities and will continue to assess the situation.
