Open interest in the July canola contract was recorded at 34,967 on May 3, 2000 up 18% compared to the previous record of 29,630 set on April 27, 2000.
An open interest record for options of 25,490 occurred on May 25, 2000. The previous record for total open interest of 24,311contracts was set on September 29, 1999. The record was initially broken on May 12th, 2000 at 24,638 contracts and has been building to the new high.
