Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Launches New Web-Site
Date 15/05/1999
Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) has announced that it has launched a new web-site (www.wce.mb.ca) that features 15 minute delayed futures and options price quotes and provides enhanced market information. The Exchange's new Internet site replaces the previous one launched in 1996. The latest in Internet technology has been used to provide the public with access to more dynamic market information. In addition to the delayed price quotes, much of the information on the site is updated daily, including the price charts, settlement prices, cash pricing information, closing market comments, volume and open interest and a canola crush index. Also available are a number of weekly and monthly summary reports, as well as historical price data that can be downloaded to the visitor's local computer.
"As the Internet became the medium of choice for many traders and other market users, the Exchange realized there was a need to expand the amount of information provided on its web-site," stated Bruce Love, WCE Director of Marketing. "The launch of the new site provides visitors with direct computer access to a host of timely, market-related information."
WCE is a not-for-profit corporation and Canada's only agricultural futures and options exchange. The Exchange offers futures contracts on canola, flaxseed, feed wheat, feed barley, oats and field peas. Option contracts are available on canola, flaxseed, feed wheat, and feed barley.
