Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Futures Contracts Hit Record Open Interest

Total open interest in Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. (WCE) futures contracts reached 133,266 contracts as at the close of business on February 7, 2007.

This level of open interest surpasses the previous WCE futures contract total open interest record of 133,174 contracts which was recorded on March 21, 2001.

Total open interest in canola futures contracts reached an all-time high on February 6, 2007 at 110,401 contracts.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc., established in 1887, has been facilitating futures contract trading since 1904. WCE is Canada's only agricultural futures and options exchange and North America's first fully electronic commodity exchange. WCE offers futures and options contracts on canola, domestic feed wheat, and western barley.
