Wiener Börse To Take Part In Meeting Of EU25 Ministers Of Finance On 7 April In Vienna

The member of the Management Board, Dr. Michael Buhl, will have an opportunity to give a presentation to the 25 Ministers of Finance of the European Union explaining the significance of a well-functioning regional capital market for GDP growth and the creation of jobs based on the example of Wiener Börse at the informal summit of the EU Ministers of Finance (ECOFIN) on 7 April in Vienna.

The intention of Wiener Börse is to stress the importance of European measures to strengthen regional financial marketplaces by portraying the achievements of Wiener Börse. Furthermore, Michael Buhl will present Wiener Börse and its success story to more than 400 international finance and business reporters. "Regional capital markets are greatly underestimated as an instrument for strengthening national economies - and Europe's economy - to better withstand global competition. One could very well make use of capital markets to advance the Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Employment and to achieve the EU goal of becoming the strongest economic regional worldwide by 2010," said Michael Buhl.
