WCE Fees Waived On Oats Futures
Date 14/10/1999
The Board of Governors of Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) decided yesterday to waive all exchange and clearing fees related to its oats futures contract, effective immediately.
A recent review of the oats futures contract by WCE's Feed Grains Committee confirmed the contract is technically sound and well-designed. It is a very useful hedging and price discovery tool for the oats industry. WCE remains committed to this product and to encourage trade in the oats futures, has removed all exchange and clearing fees on the contract. The Exchange's Board will continue to monitor trading activity in the contract to assess the effect of its fee waiver.
WCE is a not-for-profit organization and Canada's only agricultural futures and options exchange. WCE offers futures contracts on canola, flaxseed, domestic feed wheat, western barley, oats and field peas. Options contracts are available on canola, flaxseed, feed wheat, and western barley.
