The total open interest in canola futures contracts traded on Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. ("WCE") as at the close of business on Monday, December 4, 2006 reached 100,821 contracts, breaking the record set on the previous trading day.

This is the first time any WCE commodity futures contract has recorded a level of open interest of 100,000 contracts.

"We are very pleased to see this growth in open interest. These record open interest levels reflect the increasing market participation and liquidity in our products," said Will Hill, WCE Senior Vice President.

WCE provides the world's premier price discovery and risk management tools for canola.
