Warsaw Stock Exchange Reduces Vendor Fees: More Accessible, Cheaper Information

Date 31/12/2008

As of 1 January 2009, the Warsaw Stock Exchange will reduce by as much as 37% the monthly fee charged from exchange information vendors for retail customer access to real-time information on the five best buy and sell offers for financial instruments, a part of the buy and sell order book during trading sessions.

As of the New Year, the monthly fee will be reduced from PLN 109 to PLN 69 per retail subscriber using information supplied by the vendor.

The change will facilitate (reduce the cost of) access to exchange quotations, broaden the scope of information available for the same price, and increase the group of exchange information users.

The monthly fee charged from vendors for giving institutional and retail subscribers access to the full buy and sell order book will be reduced by 7.5%. As of 1 January 2009, the fee will be reduced from PLN 147 to PLN 135 per subscriber. The fee reduction will apply to real-time exchange information vendors.

Decisions to reduce fees for end clients (subscribers) will depend on individual information vendors.

The WSE fee reduction is another important step in the WSE’s multifaceted efforts to improve the liquidity of exchange trading. The WSE plans to launch further initiatives aimed at improved liquidity of traded instruments in 2009.
