The Futures Trader competition organised by WSE and Dom Maklerski mBanku and addressed to the fans of the futures market closed on the exchange investment platform GPWTr@der on 20 June 2014.

The competition participants could use PLN 50,000 in virtual money to invest in WIG20 futures with a multiplier of PLN 20 (FW20M1420). The fierce competition lasted three weeks: the best contestants achieved a return rate close to 90% within 14 trading sessions.

Nearly 4 thousand applicants enrolled in the competition. The participants closed 18,900 buy trades (total volume of 146,320 contracts) and 18,430 sale trades (149,113 contracts). The awards in the aggregate amount of PLN 140,000 go to almost 40 contestants.

The awards are granted in three categories: the highest total return rate within the period of the competition; the highest return rate on each day; and the highest daily return rate within the period of the competition.

The two leaders of the contest competed for the highest return rate until the very last minute. The winner achieved a record-high rate of 88 percent! The runners-up achieved a rate of 86.95 percent and 73.78 percent respectively.

Futures Trader is the first competition organised in partnership with Dom Maklerski mBanku and the second competition on the exchange demo platform GPWTr@der. With the competition on the interactive investing platform, the exchange completes yet another stage of educating individual investors by introducing the WIG20 index futures contracts with the new multiplier. The volume of trading and the investment performance prove that the new contracts are attractive instruments understood even by beginners to investment.

The media partner of the competition is Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet.
