Warsaw Stock Exchange: New Structured Certificates “db New Europe Rising Stars”

Structured certificates “db New Europe Rising Stars” (db Wschodz?ce Gwiazdy Nowej Europy) issued by Deutsche Bank London were introduced to exchange trading on the parallel market on 22 April 2008. The certificates are yet another structured product available on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The reference price of the instrument on the first session is PLN 100. The certificates are listed on the parallel market in the continuous trading system.

The “db New Europe Rising Stars” certificates are yet another structured product issued by Deutsche Bank and introduced on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. They are the first structured certificates with capital protection on the WSE.

The certificates offer exposure among others to the following markets: Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Poland, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The main parameters of the instrument:
  • value at par – PLN 100;
  • redemption date – 10 March 2011;
  • repayment of 100% of capital invested in the subscription period;
  • listing on the parallel market in the continuous trading system;
  • listing in PLN.
The underlying instrument is a basket of the following funds (weight in brackets):
  • Pictet Funds Eastern Europe (50%)
  • Pioneer Eastern Europe Bond Fund (35%)
  • KD Balkans Equity Mutual Fund (15%)

Structured products are increasingly popular with investors. The value of trading in structured instruments was PLN 51.3 million in Q1 2008, compared to over PLN 25 million in all of 2007.

Currently the WSE lists 22 structured products issued by: Deutsche Bank London, Erste Bank, Raiffeisen Centrobank, UniCredit, and Barclays Bank. Investors can choose among 5 types of structured notes and 17 types of structured certificates.
