Warsaw Stock Exchange Is Recognised By Retail Investors Once Again - The Association Of Retail Investors Has Awarded The WSE For Top Quality Of Its Investor Relations

The Warsaw Stock Exchange has won the Capital Market Hero competition organised by the Association of Retail Investors (SII). The WSE has been recognised for its highest standards of communication with retail investors.

The competition opened on 13 March and closed on 20 May 2012. It covered all Polish and foreign companies listed on the WSE and NewConnect. The winner was selected by retail investors in the Association’s electronic survey.

The awards were presented during the 16^th edition of the WallStreet Conference, the biggest event in Poland dedicated to retail investors. This year’s edition has brought together over 800 participants including investors, representatives of public companies and institutions active on the Polish capital market.

“We have always encouraged issuers listed on the WSE’s Main Market and NewConnect to engage in reliable and exhaustive investor communications. Since November 2010, when the WSE became a public company, we have committed ourselves to set an example for the issuers. We believe that investor relations are an important long-term investment of each company. Investor relations require constant attention to ensure respect for the shareholders and build open shareholder relations based on transparency and trust. The award from retail investors which we have received today is best proof that we have been very good at this investment,” said WSE Management Board Member Beata Jarosz who collected the award on behalf of the WSE.

The Capital Market Hero title is not the first award for the WSE in recognition of high quality of its investor relations. The WSE has been awarded among others by Puls Biznesu with the third prize in the Exchange Listed Company of the Year 2011 competition and by the monthly TREND with an honorary mention in a survey of the quality of investor relations of listed companies; the WSE has been nominated for the finals of the Golden Website competition whose winners will be announced by the Association of Listed Companies at the Investor Relations Congress (Ossa, 12 June).
