As of 4 January 2010, the Warsaw Stock Exchange will start calculating and publishing a new sector sub-index - WIG-energy.
The WIG-energy sub-index will complete the family of sector sub-indices, which comprises the following areas: banking, construction, chemical, developers, IT, media, food, oil & gas and telecommunication.
Following the methodology of sector sub-indices, the portfolio of the WIG-energy sub-index includes companies representing the energy sector in the WIG index. The weighting of each participant equals its weighting in the WIG index. The base date of the new sub-sector index is 31 December 2009 and the base value equals 3 998.60, i.e. 1/10 of the closing value of the WIG index on the base date.
