In November 2006 total volume of turnover in derivative instruments amounted to 486,382 instruments. Since the beginning of the year the volume of turnover of all derivative instruments totaled to over 6.2 million and is by 0.5 million (10%) higher than in the whole year 2005.
The turnover value of all derivatives reached PLN 348 billon and it was over 46% more than it was in the whole year 2005.
The investors’ engagement on derivatives market increased. The number of open interest at month-end was the largest in the history and amounted to over 100 thousand on all derivative instruments, of which 66,609 fall on WIG20 index futures and 26,855 fall on WIG20 index. Taking into consideration the number of open interest at the end of November 2005, this is an increase by nearly 40%.
Turnover volume on WIG20 index options since the beginning of the year exceeded 300 thousand options and is by over 50 thousand more than in the whole 2005 Also investors concluded the transactions on larger volumes. In November the average volume on a transaction was the highest in the whole 2006 and amounted to 3.4 option/transaction (the analogues indicator for WIG20 index futures in November amounted to 2.8).
