On April 25, 2008, in Istanbul the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) held an all-day promotional conference for Turkish business community, entrepreneurs, financial intermediaries, investors and the media.
The objective of the conference - Warsaw Stock Exchange – business opportunities for Turkish issuers and investors - was to introduce Turkish business community to the Polish stock market and the WSE listing process allowing the Turkish companies to be floated on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The regional competence of the WSE, its business offer and possibilities for cooperation with Turkish firms within the WSE business partner network have also been discussed.
During her presentation on the Polish stock market, Mrs Lidia Adamska, Member of the WSE Management Board, discussed the growth prospects of the Polish stock market, the WSE's strengths, and opportunities for foreign companies making their debut in Warsaw. Further presentations addressed individual phases of the Initial Public Offering process and floatations on the WSE Main List and the NewConnect market (WSE alternative trading system - market for smaller and innovative companies launched successfully in August 2007).
This was the first such meeting with the Turkish business community, providing the WSE a great opportunity for promotion of the Polish stock market and its potential.
“The WSE is open and very keen to co-operate with Turkish companies and market participants. We are convinced that there is potential to build beneficial bilateral relations between our markets, so that both sides will be able to take advantage of the existing business opportunities. I sincerely hope that this conference is just a beginning of a long-term relationship” says Mrs Adamska.
The event enjoyed the interest of Turkish business circles, entrepreneurs and media.
