Warsaw Stock Exchange Appoints Issuer Council

Date 27/09/2024

The Warsaw Stock Exchange has appointed the Issuer Council to the President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The Issuer Council will serve as a platform for dialogue among issuers, investors, and regulators with a mission of making the market more efficient and promoting long-term development strategies of Polish companies listed on GPW.

The Issuer Council is a newly appointed group of experts with an advisory role to the President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. It comprises owners and presidents of private companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The mission of the Issuer Council is to share the knowledge and experience of issuers’ representatives with the GPW authorities in order to contribute to the further development and improvement of the capital market in Poland.

The Issuer Council will be a platform for the exchange of experience and initiatives to make a real impact on the future of the capital market. Issuer Council members will be ambassadors of positive change, supporting the development and stability of the market in Poland.

The stock exchange is much more than numbers, charts, and quotations. It is first and foremost about people, their experience, knowledge, and commitment. The stock exchange is a community of issuers, investors, regulators, and experts joining forces to build the strength of this market. That is why I believe that the newly appointed Issuer Council will bring together wise and committed leaders working together to further the development of the capital market,” said Tomasz Bardziłowski, President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The stock exchange offers enormous opportunities for business growth. Floating a company on the exchange not only allows it to raise capital but also helps to foster a positive image of a mature organisation. The decision we took 20 years ago has had a key impact on the development of Asseco. Thanks to the trust of many individual and institutional investors, we are building the largest IT group in Central and Eastern Europe and reaching out with our software to customers all over the world. I am therefore all the more pleased that I have been invited to join the Issuer Council and offered the honourable function of its Chairperson,” said Adam Góral, President of Asseco Poland, Chairperson of the Issuer Council.

The appointment of the Issuer Council was announced at the conference “Development Driven by the Stock Exchange” dedicated to the future of the capital market in Poland. Representatives of the largest private companies and capital market experts took part in discussions on the benefits of being listed on the stock exchange. All of them strongly stressed that the Warsaw Stock Exchange should once again become a key pillar of our economy, supporting its growth and innovation. It is capital that drives development, and development that leads to success. The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Asseco Poland’s listing on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
