Warsaw Exchange Announces The WIG Index New All-time High

WIG, all-share index, closed at its highest ever level since its launch in April 1991. The market benchmark reached today the new all time high with 34,497.14 points. The previous record was set on December 7, 2005 with 34,481.24.

The Warsaw Stock Exchange computes 13 different indices, including WIG20 (blue-chip companies), MIDWIG (mid-cap companies) and TechWIG (innovative technologies companies), which are underlying instruments for futures contracts. Other indices: WIG (main market companies), WIRR (small companies) and WIG-PL (main market domestic companies) are all-share benchmark indices.

All the WSE index selection criteria are based on free float, liquidity and observance of corporate governance.
