Following the ranking, drawn up as of 10 September 2004, the composition of the above mentioned indices will be changed:
- MIESZKO, TIM, PERMEDIA, PROCHEM and ZREW will be moved from WIRR index to WIG index and ARTMAN, PEPEES, TALEX and WILBO will be moved from WIG index to WIRR index,
- HYDROBUD will enter and FON and INSTALKRK will be removed from WIRR index,
- PROCHEM, TIM, MIESZKO, UNIMIL and WANDALEX will enter and HUTMEN, WILBO, PROJPRZEM and TRASTYCHY will be removed from WIG-PL index.
As a result, WIG index will consist of 104 companies (currently 103), WIG-PL index will consists of 109 companies (currently 108) and WIRR index - 55 companies (currently 57).
The participation of individual companies’ share in the WIG and WIG-PL portfolios: TPSA, PEKAO and PKN ORLEN will be limited to 10% and the banking sector to 30 %.
Quarterly revision of WIG index will be accompanied by quarterly revision of sector sub-indices.
The WIG index is one of the main Warsaw Exchange’s indices, apart from the WIG20 and MIDWIG indices. It consists of the biggest companies listed on WSE and covers 99% of the market capitalisation.
The WIRR index is dedicated to small companies and covers 1% of market capitalisation.
The WIG-PL is the newest index launched by the Warsaw Exchange. It consists of the biggest domestic companies listed on WSE and covers 99% of the market capitalisation.
