Vienna Stock Exchange: Education Means Future

Date 05/09/2011

Just in time for the start of school, the Vienna Stock Exchange launched a new website targeting youths – www.borse4me.at – which is a further contribution to general education in the area of finance. A solid basic education in economic topics is a requisite today more than ever for coping with situations in both private life and at work. As knowledge of the capital market is useful regardless of the professional career a person may choose later on, interest in the theme among school students is also increasing. At www.borse4me.at you will find information on the Austrian capital market as well as profiles of jobs in the investment field, diverse quizzes to test your knowledge, and also an e-learning program.

The Vienna Stock Exchange has successfully been offering financial education and further training courses in the field of finance for many years. For more than 20 years now, Wiener Börse Akademie, a cooperative venture of the Vienna Stock Exchange and WIFI Management Forum, has been offering seminars and training courses on investment and capital markets. As early as in 2003, the “ Austrian Capital Market Kit” was designed for schools together with a team of education professionals. The lectures held at schools have reached up 56,286 pupils to date. The teacher training course entitled “How does the Austrian capital market work?” has registered 708 teachers since its inception. The Vienna Stock Exchange also organizes investment campaign days at universities.
