Vienna Stock Exchange - BUWOG: New Stock In The ATX

Date 02/09/2014

At today's meeting, the Index Committee has decided on changes in the composition of Austrian stock indices. All changes become effective as of 22 September 2014. In the Austrian leading index, ATX, Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG will be replaced by BUWOG AG. The latter company, specialised in Austrian and German residential real estate, has been listed on the prime market of the Vienna Stock Exchange since 28 April 2014. The development of the turnover and the free float capitalisation of the stock have been the key factors for the inclusion in the ATX.

There will also be changes in the composition of the ATX five: Due to a higher free float capitalisation Andritz AG will replace Immofinanz AG. As a result, the ATX five will consist of Erste Bank, Raiffeisen Bank International, OMV, voestalpine and Andritz.

Furthermore, changes in the structure of institutional investors have caused modifications to the free float. In the ATX, the free float factors of Andritz AG and Telekom Austria AG changes from 0.8 to 0.7 and from 0.5 to 0.3, respectively. In the ATX Prime, the free float factor of Valneva SE increases from 0.7 to 0.8.

The Index Committee revises the Austrian index twice a year and decides on any changes to its composition. The decision on new additions to the index is based on the daily average trading volume and the free float capitalisation of companies. The free float represents the portion of shares of a company that are in the hands of a multitude of public investors. Once a month, the " ATX watchlist" is published. The Committee also decides on adjustments to the weighting factors in the index. Representatives of institutional investors, trading members of the Vienna Stock Exchange, academics and the Vienna Stock Exchange contribute their know-how to the Index Committee.
