Validus Upgrades Signature TradeView Platform With Automated Pre-Trade Check Functionality

Date 18/06/2024

  • Latest features provide configurable pre-trade checks and auditable trade decisions
  • Enhanced real-time TCA analytics and hedge liquidity management optimiser to launch in H2

Validus Risk Management (‘Validus’), the leading independent financial risk advisory and technology firm, today announces the inclusion of automated pre-trade checks in its front-office hedging platform, TradeView, to streamline risk management workflows and improve operational efficiency. The firm has plans to enhance their real-time Trade Cost Analysis (TCA) functionality and add a liquidity management tool to optimise trade allocations later this year, further improving Validus’ market-leading solution tailored for the private market.

TradeView remains the only platform in the market built and designed specifically for private capital managers. A unique end-to-end solution, TradeView allows Validus’ clients to manage their order flows for hedging transactions through the entire trade cycle. The intuitive dashboard facilitates real-time order tracking, from intake to execution, while seamlessly integrating with the broader Validus technology ecosystem, Horizon, providing further analytics and monitoring capabilities. TradeView’s latest enhancements include:

  • Configurable pre-trade checks that automatically ensure the trade request conforms with the agreed policy, thereby reducing operational risk.
  • Automated prompts that alert the user to deviations from permittable tenors, currency pairs, instruments, direction etc.
  • Guardrails that can be established and implemented organisation-wide or customised to the individual trading entity giving users complete flexibility and control.
  • Rationale for trade requests (for out-of-policy items) and allocation support, which can be saved to the trade record to facilitate an easily accessible audit trail.

Looking ahead to H2 2024, Validus has plans to elevate functionality in their real-time TCA (Transaction Cost Analysis) and add a liquidity management optimiser to help improve hedge decision-making. TradeView already includes an in-house order management system with customised approvals, a complete auditable history of all activity taken within the life of a trading order, as well as a data management tool to configure trading lines and ISDA Operations in the form of Validus' own ATE (Additional Termination Event) and CSA (Credit Support Annex) evaluator. In the evolving regulatory environment with increased demand for transparency, TradeView permits all trade decisions to be easily auditable.

Commenting on the new additions to TradeView, Jeremy Wang, Chief Product Officer at Validus Risk Management, said: “At Validus, we are constantly updating our technology offerings and calibrating our models to adapt to the rapidly changing market conditions. Our latest upgrade aims to streamline the pre-trade processes, enhancing accuracy and allowing treasury / risk management teams to allocate resources more effectively. Coupled with the firm’s real-time analytics and upcoming data features such as TCA, our platform allows clients to improve efficiency and make better-informed decisions in a volatile market.”

As part of Validus Horizon, an industry-leading, hyper-customisable platform and the centrepiece of the firm’s home-grown technology offering, TradeView is complemented by RiskView, a configurable hedging monitoring and reporting framework, and PortfolioView, which allows users to holistically assess their assets, liabilities, hedges, and net portfolio impacts. Altogether, the technology suite enables clients to evaluate their entire portfolio at a glance, analyse risk exposures, manage the trade order workflow to mitigate these risks, and monitor their hedging programme performance through a single dashboard.
