The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) today announced Andrew Moss as the Deputy Comptroller for Community and Industry Relations, effective June 2.
“Andrew’s strong leadership, extensive experience in financial inclusion, and dedication to community and industry partnerships will strengthen the agency’s critical outreach and community development activities,” said Acting Comptroller of the Currency Rodney Hood.
In this role, Mr. Moss will oversee the division previously named Community Affairs, with community development professionals located in Washington, D.C., and the OCC regions who provide expertise, guidance, and educational resources, and organize outreach on community development lending, services, investments, and related issues in support of the OCC’s mission.
Mr. Moss remains the Director of External Relations and Strategic Partnerships, where he directs the agency’s strategies in support of financial inclusion initiatives, including the OCC’s Project REACh. Mr. Moss also currently serves as the OCC’s Acting Chief of Staff where he advances the priorities of the Acting Comptroller.
Previously, Mr. Moss was the Outreach and External Relations Manager and held other leadership positions within the Office of Public Affairs.
Prior to joining the OCC in 2014, Mr. Moss held various positions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Mr. Moss holds a bachelor of business administration degree in finance and marketing from North Carolina Central University and a master of education administration degree from George Mason University. He also received his juris doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
The Office of Community Affairs was previously led by Deputy Comptroller Barry Wides who retired from the OCC in 2025. The office was renamed Community and Industry Relations as part of the agency’s reorganization efforts.
