The Index Sub-Committee of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) in its regular review of the KLSE Composite Index (KLSE CI) has decided to release one component stock of the KLSE CI effective
Monday, 15 October 2001.
The company to be released is:

In place of the component stock to be released, the company to be included as component stock of the KLSE CI effective

The decision to release UEM as a component stock of the KLSE CI is in respect of a general offer for UEM which may include the process of removing UEM from the official list of the Exchange.
In place of UEM, The Index Sub-Committee included WTK Holdings Bhd as a component stock of KLSE CI based on the selection criteria which take into account, among others, the following factors:
- Sector representation
- Market capitalisation
- Trading volume
The Index Sub-Committee comprises independent industry representatives from asset management, accounting, unit trust management and listed companies, research divisions of organisations, institutions of higher learning and a representative of the KLSE.
The KLSE CI, made up of 100 component stocks listed on the Main Board of the Exchange, among others generally reflects developments and changes in the corporate sector and the diverse sectors in the national economy.
