I would like to ask about the unauthorized access incident involving Daiwa Securities. It has been revealed that customer information relating to approximately 220,000 customers may have been leaked owing to unauthorized access to an outsourcing contractor. What is your assessment of this incident? Also, does the Financial Services Agency (FSA) intend to strengthen the supervision and monitoring of cybersecurity measures at financial institutions, including outsourcing contractors?

I am aware that Daiwa Securities has announced that customer information relating to approximately 220,000 customers may have been leaked as a result of unauthorized access to one of its outsourcing contractors. The proper management of customer information is of utmost importance from the perspectives of protecting personal information and maintaining confidence in financial institutions. As we do not yet have a full understanding of the situation, we will first closely monitor the company’s response. It is important that appropriate measures be taken to ensure that confidence is not undermined.
