H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), raised the UAE flag at SCA's Dubai branch—in the presence of CEO deputies, department managers, and employees—to celebrate the anniversary of the accession of the UAE President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This also comes in response to the call from H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to celebrate the Flag Day.
At the beginning of the celebrations, Dr. Al Zaabi said: “Celebrating the UAE Flag Day portrays a bright image created by our founding fathers and reflects the values of national cohesion, belonging, and loyalty to the wise leadership of our country, led by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; H.H. Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and their brothers Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates".
“The Flag Day celebrations reflect our respect for the flag as a symbol of our sovereignty, national unity, and societal fabric. This is an initiative that promotes the values of allegiance and loyalty and the shared senses of unity, pride, and self-sacrifice. On this precious occasion, we take pride in the relentless efforts of our founding fathers and recall their selfless sacrifices that kept our flag aloft over the past years. These celebrations evoke distant memories of a precious, timeless moment when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of our country and the man behind its prosperity, raised the UAE flag at Dar Al Ittihad in Dubai", Dr. Al Zaabi added.
He said: “This dear occasion—which brings together officials from all formal bodies across the country to raise the UAE flag at the same time—reflects the unity of all citizens and residents, their readiness to sacrifice for this land, their determination to defend this country and its interests, and their willingness to contribute to its growth and prosperity".
“The Flag Day initiative inspires us to work hard, to excel, and to walk our way towards success with absolute determination to fulfill the UAE Vision 2021 and to meet our strategic plan and the targets outlined in the UAE National Agenda. To continue our march toward development, we must be armed with the tools of innovation and creativity, advanced knowledge, and sophisticated technologies and skills. On this occasion, we recall and honor our martyrs who gave their lives to defend their country", Dr. Al Zaabi said.
