As part of its efforts to train Emirati cadres and prepare them for careers in the UAE’s financial sector, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) received a group of young Emiratis participating in the second edition of the Financial Market Pioneers Program at its Dubai branch.
This program is a key initiative launched by the SCA in cooperation with Sandooq Al Watan and the ADGM Academy. Its goal is to develop national cadres and help them hone their technical and theoretical skills, preparing them to undertake vital roles in the financial sector and enhance their contribution to the country’s sustainable economic development.
Around 30 participants have joined the program in its current edition. They represent an elite group of young Emirati nationals from the private and government sectors and UAE-based financial institutions.
On this occasion, Her Excellency Dr. Maryam Buti Al Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer, expressed her pride in the young Emiratis participating in the Financial Market Pioneers Program. She said that the SCA has always been keen to contribute to the UAE government’s vision to empower and support young Emiratis and unlock new opportunities for them to maximize their potential, explaining that the program is focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assume leading positions in this important sector.
“In cooperation with our strategic partners, we strive to mobilize all available resources to empower our young people to shape the future of the UAE’s financial sector. The SCA will continue its tireless efforts to supply this sector with qualified and distinguished Emirati cadres who can enhance its global competitiveness in line with the UAE’s strategic vision to position itself as a leading global financial hub,” Dr. Al Suwaidi said.
She said that continuing education is the cornerstone of a knowledge-based economy and that it lies at the heart of the SCA’s vision to prepare a young generation capable of leading the future as they are better able to adapt to changes and utilize advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to enhance business efficiency and drive financial markets forward.
For his part, His Excellency Yasser Al Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, said: “The Financial Market Pioneers Program marks a significant milestone in the path to develop national cadres and empower them to lead the future of the UAE’s financial sector. Through our partnership with the Securities and Commodities Authority and the Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy, we aim to create a comprehensive learning environment that helps young Emiratis acquire advanced knowledge and technical skills to meet global market demands”.

About the Financial Market Pioneers Program
The Financial Market Pioneers Program is tailored for different audiences, including new investors, Sandooq Al Watan candidates, employees from public joint stock companies and SCA-licensed firms, candidates from federal and local entities, recent bachelor’s degree recipients from the SCA, and candidates from the SCA Youth Council.
Participants are required to complete around 84 training hours over three consecutive weeks. The program provides comprehensive knowledge about global financial and economic trends and the basics of investing in securities.
Upon graduating from the program, participants are eligible to work as broker representatives in line with the conditions and procedures specified by the SCA. The program also qualifies participants to sit for and obtain international certificates, including the Fundamentals of Financial Services Qualification (offered by the CISI) and the Investment Foundations Certificate (offered by the CFA Institute). Such qualifications help graduates advance their careers in the job market.
