The UAE’s 50th National Day is a dear occasion for all of us. It is an occasion that marks a significant milestone in the history of the United Arab Emirates and reflects its pioneering development march and far-reaching national achievements. This glorious day symbolizes the values of leadership, determination, and ambition, which motivates us to give back, show generosity to others, and engage in our work with devotion and dedication to consolidate the status of our dear homeland. This is a day to recall the journey to excellence, which began with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE and builder of its renaissance, and his brothers the founding fathers, a journey that led to the formation of the union.
This year, we celebrate fifty years of unity between the seven emirates and a journey of giving that spanned over the past decades. This is what makes this year’s celebration extra special. Celebrating fifty years of the UAE is celebrating a great journey for a country whose leaders managed in nearly no time to bring prosperity and happiness to all citizens and residents on this great land, making it stand out as a model to emulate for the world and an icon of development, safety, and security.
This is a celebration through which the UAE shows the world the pioneering development march that began in tandem with its establishment on December 02 and 03, 1971. Ever since, this march has been continuing at an accelerating pace under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and their brothers Their Highnesses Members of the UAE Supreme Council.
The UAE’s golden jubilee serves as an ideal opportunity to contemplate the accomplishments made over the past fifty years while we prepare ourselves to make great strides and encourage creative thinking in the next fifty years. We celebrate this historical day every year, a day on which we recall the past achievements and the great deeds of our founding fathers. On this day, we renew the pledge to stay loyal to this land and to our leaders who managed to lead this nation to prosperity and welfare.
Perhaps the most notable achievement in the UAE’s path of success is the development of human capital. The UAE has been equipping its people with knowledge and skills to make them better able to contribute actively to accelerating the pace of development and growth. Our wise leadership placed human resources development at the top of its priorities; it has invested heavily in its people and has borne fruit as they became pioneering individuals who helped place their country among the top in the world so that it continues its development and empowerment march.
On this day, we affirm our pledge to our prudent leadership to continue to work with determination to make the UAE a hub of civilization for the whole world, to bring further successes for our beloved homeland, and to build a brighter future for us and for the coming generations.
We thank Allah for we are blessed with a leadership that spares no effort to raise high the flag of our country and bring prosperity and happiness for nationals and residents alike. We pledge our leadership to work tirelessly to give back to this country.
